Paris Marathon 2027Registration Guide

No lottery here. Paris is first-come, first-served and sells out fast. Here's how to secure your spot.

Registration Opens Spring 2026

The Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris is not one of the six World Marathon Majors, but it's one of the world's largest and most beautiful marathons. With over 50,000 runners and a stunning course through Paris's iconic landmarks, it's a bucket-list race for many runners.

Unlike the Majors, Paris does not use a lottery system. Registration is first-come, first-served, which means you need to be ready when it opens. Spots fill up quickly, and once they're gone, they're gone.

Key Dates for 2027

  • 2027 Race Day (Expected): Mid-April 2027 (typically second Sunday)
  • Registration Opens (Expected): Late April 2026 (after the 2026 race)
  • Registration Closes: When sold out (no fixed date)

For official updates, head to the Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris website.

Don't miss the opening. Registration opens while everyone is still recovering from the 2026 race. Set up a BibsAlert and we'll email you the moment Paris 2027 registration goes live.

How Registration Works

Paris uses a tiered registration system with quotas. As each quota fills, the price increases. Early registration gets the best rates.

Two-Phase Registration

Phase 1: Pre-registration. Priority access for runners who signed up for early notifications on the official website. This phase opens first with the best prices and limited places.

Phase 2: General registration. Opens after the pre-registration phase. Still first-come, first-served, but prices are higher and spots are limited.

Entry Fees

Entry fees for Paris have been increasing over the years due to high demand. Based on recent years:

  • Early registration: From €135
  • Later registration: €140-€170+ (as quotas fill)
  • Charity entry: €85 + minimum €420 fundraising commitment

Note: Prices are subject to change for 2027. Check the official website for the most current information.

Medical Certificate Requirement

France requires a medical certificate (certificat médical) stating you have no contraindication to competitive running. The certificate must be less than one year old at the time of the race. You'll need to upload this during registration or before collecting your bib.

Frequently Asked Questions

For more detailed information, check out the official Paris Marathon FAQ.

How fast does Paris sell out?

Paris typically sells out within weeks to a few months of registration opening, depending on the quota. The cheapest spots in the early phases sell out fastest. Don't wait too long or you'll either pay more or miss out entirely.

Can I transfer or defer my entry?

Transfers and deferrals are generally not allowed. Check the official terms and conditions for the specific year, as policies can change.

Do I need to speak French?

No. The registration website, expo, and race are all well-organized for international runners. Over a third of participants come from outside France.

Where do I get my medical certificate?

Any licensed doctor can provide the certificate. It needs to state that you have no contraindication to competitive running (or "la pratique de la course à pied en compétition"). The certificate must be dated within one year of race day.

Be First in Line
