Run Rome The Marathon is one of Europe's most scenic urban marathons, taking you past ancient Roman ruins, Renaissance palaces, and baroque fountains. The course runs past the Colosseum, St. Peter's Basilica, Piazza Venezia, the Vittoriano, and Circo Massimo. Registration is first-come, first-served with tiered pricing. Early registrants get the best rates. Unlike many marathons, Rome allows entry transfers for a small fee.

How to Enter

1. General Registration (First-Come, First-Served)

Register on the official website. Tiered pricing starting from €89 (early bird). Prices increase as each quota fills, up to €139+. No qualifying time needed.

2. Transfers

Unlike most marathons, Rome allows bib transfers for a €30 fee. This makes it easier to plan. If you can't run, you can transfer to another runner.

3. Charity/Team Entries

Group entries and charity spots available.

The Course

Course starting from the Fori Imperiali, with the Colosseum at your back. Runs past the Circus Maximus, along the Tiber River, through Piazza del Popolo, past St. Peter's Basilica, and through Trastevere.

Mostly flat with a few cobblestone sections. March weather is mild (8-16°C / 46-61°F).

Can I transfer my bib?

Yes! Rome allows transfers for a €30 fee. The deadline is typically 2-3 weeks before race day.

Are there cobblestones on the course?

Some sections have cobblestones (sampietrini), particularly near historic sites. Most of the course is on regular road surface.

Is Rome a fast course?

The course is mostly flat and can produce good times, but some cobblestone sections and tight turns may slow you slightly compared to purpose-built fast courses like Berlin.
