Known for its flat, fast course and incredible crowd support, Chicago is a favorite for runners chasing personal bests. With over 45,000 finishers annually, it's also one of the largest marathons in the world.

How to Enter

1. Non-Guaranteed Entry (Lottery)

Apply during the lottery window. Random selection. Entry fee approximately $230 for US residents, $240 for international. You're charged only if selected.

2. Guaranteed Entry (Legacy Finisher Program)

If you've run Chicago 5+ times in the past 10 years OR completed all Abbott World Marathon Majors, you get guaranteed entry. Must register during the guaranteed entry window.

3. Time Qualification

Fast runners can apply for guaranteed entry based on age-graded qualifying times.

4. Charity Entries

Partner charities offer guaranteed spots. Fundraising minimums typically $1,750-$3,500.

5. Tour Operators

International travel packages through official partners.

Flat and fast loop course through 29 Chicago neighborhoods. Start and finish in Grant Park. Known for enthusiastic crowd support. One of the best courses for a marathon PB alongside Berlin.
